Research Outcome Seminar on Energy Efficiency and Cooling

Thursday 4 May 2017, 08.00AM – 12.00PM Floor 5, Qatar National Research Fund, Tornado Tower, Majlis Al Taawon St, Doha, Qatar

Currently, Qatar and Gulf countries at large face many challenges in the energy sector. These challenges include low-energy efficiency, chronic dependence on fuel subsidies and related high CO2 emissions.

To tackle these issues, Qatar is now embarking on a clean energy transition pathway, targeting more sustainable, efficient and cost-effective methods for using energy. Energy efficiency and cooling technologies can play a major role in reducing energy intensity and thus emissions.

The topic of this ROS, under the Energy & Environment pillar of QNRF, is Energy Efficiency and Cooling. It is an area of research that is very relevant to Qatar and GCC counties in general, and one that features high on QF R&D’s list of priorities.

The seminar will comprise oral presentations by project leaders, as well as flash presentations and poster demonstrations by researchers based on various QNRF-funded projects.
